When leaving a workplace you love, leaving your close colleagues, and leaving behind the efforts you have made for the company you work for, it is very important not to burn bridges and to leave a good mark.

So how should a resignation letter be written?

Use a Professional and Clear Tone
Your resignation letter should be simple and professional. Aim for clarity and brevity by covering the key points without unnecessary details. The main purpose is to inform your employer of your decision and provide details about your departure.
Information You Must Include in Your Resignation Letter:
- Date the letter was written (usually preferred to be in the upper right corner of the paper)
- To whom it is written (To Human Resources of the Company of ……., Dear …….., etc.)
- Start by stating your intention (I resign from my position at the Company of ……., which I started on the date of …., as of the date of ……., without any pressure (or at my own request) on the grounds of ………)
- Do not forget to include your last day of work. (You can calculate this according to the notice period in your contract or write it this way if you reach a different agreement with your employer)
- Express the reason for your departure politely. (new job, personal reasons, moving, etc.)
- You can thank the job opportunity offered to you, what you have learned and the experience you have gained.
- You can complete your letter by adding your last name – surname and signature.
